Tautoko Tāne is hosting Hoake Tātou | Walk With Me - a nationwide series of free presentations for agencies, service providers and professionals to share information and insights about working with male survivors of sexual abuse to get the support they need.
Join us on 15 October at The Spencer Hotel, Takapuna Beach, at 9.30am.
The presentation includes:
➡️ Safe access and effective engagement of male survivors with support services
➡️ Dispelling some of the common myths about male victims of sexual harm
➡️ Navigate the misunderstandings that create barriers to engagement with support services
➡️ Highlight the role of lived experience as an effective engagement model
➡️ Collaboration and partnerships to welcome and embrace cultural and gender diversity within the male survivor community
Supporting complex trauma requires a shared response from several organisations, each with different skills and experience – no single agency or organisation can do it alone.
As more male survivors present with complex trauma, New Zealand will need even more collaborative sector partnerships to provide the wrap-around services necessary for recovery.
Hoake Tātou | Walk With Me is about bringing those different organisations together to hear from those with lived experience, and share information and understandings about working with male survivors of sexual abuse and violence, to help them get the support they need.
We hope you will join us. Please REGISTER here to attend ➡️
